After spending years at a time doing the degree that you thought would be the most appropriate for you often people will find that their experience leads them into other directions. This is not such a defined disadvantage, especially if you can find a job in the area that you love working in. Keeping the skills that you have learned will often mean needing to find a job or career in the area that your university studies took you. If you cannot find the job that suits your degree or postgraduate studies then you should continue to do night courses or part time studies that will help you keep in touch with the latest developments in your area of expertise.

The first and naturally best place to find a job that suits your qualifications is to start looking at the university that you attended. Often lecturer assistance, tutorial assistance and other jobs in this field are open to the students who strive to be at the top of the class. Just getting good grades is not always enough because your potential employer will want to see that you have made an effort to go beyond the normal curriculum. Try getting into sports clubs, debating teams or other outside activities so that you can prove you are an all rounded worker who likes a challenge and takes control of their own situation.
